Jeff G. Honefanger - Deputy Director
Ohio Department of Transportation

A native of Springfield, Ohio, Jeff was appointed to the Ohio Department of Transportation as Deputy Director, Division of Rail Transportation in 1991. Appointed to manage the Special Hauling Permits Section in 1995. Since being assigned to the Special Hauling Permits Section, Jeff has been responsible for instituting several permit process improvements, resulting in greater efficiency and operational performance for both ODOT and carriers.

Serves as:
ODOT’s representative to the Multi-State Permit Group Board of Directors, ODOT’s Representative for Ohio Commercial Vehicle Information System Network (CVISN) and Intelligent Transportation System/Commercial Vehicle Operations (ITS/CVO) Mainstreaming Project, Member of Ohio Pre-Pass Steering Committee, Participant on ODOT’s Freight Study Team. Co-author Freight Transportation: The European Market as part of the FHWA/AASHTO International Technology Exchange Program assigned to study transportation trends, conduct site research and interviews in Europe.

Tecumseh Council, Boy Scouts of America, serving as Council Commissioner. Is recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and District Award of Merit.
Springfield City Schools Blue Ribbon Committee for Excellence, Transportation Subcommittee. Family:
