On February 05, 2007 Governor Eliot Spitzer nominated Astrid C. Glynn to serve as Commissioner
of the Department of Transportation.
Prior to her nomination, Ms. Glynn served as Director of
Capital Planning for the Massachusetts School Building Authority.
From 2005 to 2006, she was
Deputy Chief in the Massachusetts Office of for Commonwealth Development.
Previously, Ms. Glynn
served in the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation in a number of capacities,
including Deputy Secretary for Planning, Executive Director in the Office of Transportation
Planning, Deputy Secretary for Capital Planning and Multimodal Transportation and Director of
Intermodal Transportation.
Ms. Glynn earned her B.A. from Bennington College and her J.D.
from Albany Law School of Union University.
