National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Study Commission---Official Website
The National Surface Transportation Policy and Revenue Commission was created under Section 1909 of the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act—A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). This Commission was created because members of the Congress declared, “that it is in the national interest to preserve and enhance the surface transportation system to meet the needs of the United States for the 21 st century.”

AASHTO helped co-sign a letter urging Senate passage of the Water Resources Development Act. A bill to provide for the consideration and development of water and related resources, to authorize the Secretary of the Army to construct various projects for improvements to rivers and harbors of the United States, and for other purposes.
